COACH KATELYN SPARKS

ANDERSON GIRLS LACROSSE HEAD COACH

Coach Katelyn Sparks brings championship experience, proven leadership, and a passion for developing young athletes to Anderson Girls Lacrosse. She believes successful programs are built on strong relationships, accountability, and a culture where every athlete can discover her unique passion for the game. Her goal is to help players grow as confident competitors, supportive teammates, and strong leaders - on and off the field.

Championship Roots

Originally from New Canaan, Connecticut, Coach Sparks developed her love for lacrosse in one of the country’s most competitive high school programs. She helped New Canaan High School capture the 2018 Connecticut State Championship and served as captain of the 2019 state runner-up team. Those early experiences shaped her belief in the power of strong relationships, shared accountability, and a team culture in which every athlete is challenged and supported.

Collegiate Excellence

Coach Sparks began her collegiate career as an NCAA Division III athlete at Claremont McKenna College, where she also earned SCIAC All-Academic honors. After transferring to the University of Georgia, she became a standout club midfielder known for her impact across the field, particularly in draw controls and caused turnovers. Her competitive drive, versatility, and understanding of the game established her as one of the nation’s top collegiate club lacrosse players.

A Leader and Program Builder

At Georgia, Coach Sparks served as president, captain, and player-coach of the women’s lacrosse club. In addition to leading practices and mentoring teammates, she managed recruiting, travel, budgeting, and team operations. Under her leadership, Georgia earned three consecutive top-10 national finishes, including a fourth-place finish in 2024. The experience confirmed that her greatest passion extends beyond competing - she loves building programs and helping athletes grow as players, teammates, and leaders.

National Recognition & Growing the Game

Coach Sparks’ collegiate career culminated in being named the 2024 WCLA National Player of the Year. Today, she serves as Southwest Regional Manager for USA Lacrosse, working to increase participation and strengthen the sport across five states, with a special emphasis on Texas. She brings that same energy and purpose to Anderson, where she looks forward to building on the program’s tradition of excellence while developing confident, competitive, and resilient young women.
